Sustainability

GxG collective remains committed to ethical and environmental practices.

In 2017 GxG started the collection with sustainable cruelty-free horn pieces which supported small communities in Vietnam and families. The animal wasn't killed for the horn, but simply a by-product when it died of natural causes.

Buffalo's are crucial for supporting the Vietnamese in farming and used for milk and no part of the animal is wasted.

We wanted to support the country of birth Phoebes Garland was adopted from and give back to small communities.

We are now working with a large supplier which employees small artisans in India with ethical & fair trade practices on our premium collection & fine jewellery component.

Packaging

Our tissue paper is used using soy based ink and is FSC certified and acid free recycled paper. Our tissue paper supplier is committed to an eco alliance program by supporting sustainable and environment practices and the regeneration of trees.

Our packaging products have a strong ethos with circularity in mind. Guided by the frameworks of compostable, recycled, and reusable, we ensure each of our products meet at least one of these frameworks. It’s important to us that our products ‘live’ a full life, and are reused as many times as possible, and eventually disposed of in a way that is friendly for the product and environment.

We ensure our packaging is committed to sustainable practices and environmentally certified packaging.

Logistics

We use 100% Carbon Neutral & certified B Corp logistic partners.

What is carbon neutral?

Increased carbon dioxide (and equivalent) - CO2e - levels are a significant and harmful contributor to climate change.

Most people don't consider the environmental impact of their online shopping deliveries. But the logistics involved generate a huge amount of CO2 - over 10% of global CO2e emissions are from transport and logistics.

Being carbon neutral means that your net release of CO2e into the atmosphere is zero.

Whatever CO2e you emit is cancelled out by a process known as 'offsetting' – that is, supporting projects that reduce emissions, like regenerating precious forest, replacing old equipment with more efficient technology, or even training communities in beekeeping.

What is a B Corp?

'B' refers to corporations that are beneficial to society. You don’t have to be big; you just have to be good. Certification is handled by B Lab, a not-for-profit organisation that "serves a global movement of people using business as a force for good."

Since the first handful of B Corps were certified in 2007, there are only 2,784 official B Corps spread across 60 countries. Why? Because the certification process can take a long time and the standards are high.
